Three dual Canadian-American residents from Akwesasne were arrested last week in connection with an international drug smuggling investigation that involved transporting narcotics to the U.S. in exchange for American firearms. Akwesasne is located along the St. Lawrence River at the Canada-U.S. border, spanning Ontario, Quebec and New York State, and the group made use of the Mohawk territory that straddles the border.
