The 2018 Farm Bill inadvertently legalized certain forms of THC, the active ingredient in cannabis, creating an influx of intoxicating hemp products into the market that undermines state cannabis regulations. With the bill due for reauthorization in 2024, Congress must address these unintended consequences and tighten hemp-derived THC regulations.
