On 22–24 February, 18 scholars from Hungary, Russia, the USA, UK and Uzbekistan, presented papers ranging from maritime and overland trade, to the circulation of ideas and beliefs, to the modern period when the search for roots inspired journeys to retrace linkages across regions.
