The U.K. Exercise Joint Caterer 2023 (EJC 23) provides Chefs, Caterers and Stewards of the U.K. armed forces with a competition and further develops their culinary skills. It also nurtures pride in professional achievement, builds team spirit, imagination, innovation and adaptability in order to excel in operations. EJC lasts throughout the month of October and concludes with the cross-service competition over three days 30 October through 1 November.
“On a personal level, competitions teach Navy chefs how to perform under pressure,” shared Culinary Specialist 1st Class (CS1) Luis Sanchez. “You learn organization, planning skills, menu development and how to perform live, all of which will help a chef as they progress through their career.”
