Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) says AI leaders warned him of the then-new technology’s risks during a meeting ten years ago when he was a technology policy advisor to President Barack Obama. He says he met with leaders who told him that there will be “dire consequences” if no safeguards were established and “massive implication” globally if there is no action.
