KENNEWICK, Wash. — Kennewick’s effort to create a local version of Seattle’s Pike Place Market has officially come to an end.The Public Market at the Columbia River Warehouse has closed at the former Welch’s plant on East Bruneau Avenue.Stephanie Button from the Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership says the space will now focus on a new concept: The Public Market Premier Kitchen, a shared commercial kitchen and event space designed to support local food businesses.Some tenants, including separately leased spaces such as Ice Harbor Brewing, are not affected and will remain in place.Vendors began announcing their moves over the weekend, and signage at the market confirmed the closure.Public Market officials have not yet returned calls for comment.COPYRIGHT 2026 BY APPLE VALLEY NEWS NOW.
