The global power map is being redrawn, and India is no longer on the margins. Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov has said that the United States has ceased to be the sole superpower and Europe’s dominance is fading, while India and Asia rise as the next global centres of influence. Speaking in Delhi, Alipov said Russia now looks east by choice and by necessity, calling Asia the future of global politics and economic development. He said Europe’s refusal to engage with Russia has weakened its own standing, making Asia, and India in particular, Russia’s obvious partner. These remarks strongly echo External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s recent warning that the old global order is collapsing.
