Armed federal agents are patrolling Chicago’s downtown streets, a new escalation of an immigration enforcement crackdown there that followed President Donald Trump’s announcement that he will send troops to Portland. Both are the latest examples of creeping federal law enforcement presence in U.S. cities. In Chicago on Sunday, dozens of armed federal agents walked the streets of some of Chicago’s most prominent tourist and shopping areas.
