Northernmost Philippine islands facing Taiwan eyed for military exercise site

The uninhabited Mavulis island is located some 140 km from Taiwan’s southern tip and is the Philippines’ northernmost island, while Basco town is the provincial capital and one of the four towns on the main island of Batan.
